Which firm to call for which job

The badges answer the common cases. A few more, matched to what each firm publishes about itself:

  • You run a small LLC or a company with foreign founders and want a price before you call. Tbilisi Expat publishes three monthly tiers set by transaction count, starting at GEL 180 plus VAT. I&D Tax Consulting bands its packages by yearly turnover instead, from GEL 300 a month tax inclusive.
  • You are a freelancer on the 1% regime. Register in Georgia sells individual entrepreneur plans from EUR 25 a month with a named accountant, and BFA Accounting handles small business status for sole traders.
  • Your company needs audited or IFRS accounts. AGIC was accredited by SARAS in 2024 and represents PrimeGlobal in Georgia. BDO Georgia submits SARAS reports as part of its ongoing accounting and can place a chief accountant on site.
  • You employ people. PB Services Georgia runs HR and payroll outsourcing next to its bookkeeping, and SGA Accounting calculates salaries and withholding.
  • You want mistakes covered. Tbilisi Expat moves liability for filing errors onto the firm in every package, and Jara Accounting carries GEL 200,000 of professional liability insurance.

What Georgian law asks of your books

Most of what an accountant does in Georgia runs to a monthly rhythm set by the Tax Code of Georgia, and most of the Georgian tax filing deadlines fall on the 15th of the month. Enterprises file a profit tax return by the 15th of the following month, individual entrepreneurs on small business status file theirs by the same day, and VAT-registered businesses file a VAT return on that date too.

Three thresholds decide how much work there is. Small business status taxes income at 1% until it passes GEL 500,000 in a calendar year, then at 3% for the rest of that year. VAT registration becomes compulsory within two business days of taxable supplies passing GEL 100,000 in any 12 consecutive months, at a rate of 18%. Companies also send their annual financial statements to SARAS by 1 October of the following year, under the Law on Accounting, Reporting and Auditing.

Questions about hiring an accountant in Tbilisi

How much does an accountant cost in Tbilisi?

Published monthly fees on this list start at EUR 25 for an individual entrepreneur plan at Register in Georgia and GEL 180 plus VAT for up to 10 transactions at Tbilisi Expat. I&D Tax Consulting starts company packages at GEL 300 a month, tax inclusive, and AGIC's online calculator estimates GEL 200 to 250 a month before VAT. The rest quote monthly fees after a call.

Can I use a Tbilisi accountant if I live outside Georgia?

Yes. Tbilisi Expat runs clients through an online data room and lets clients abroad approve payments in their bank's app, PB Services sells remote cloud-based accounting, and Jara Accounting and BFA Accounting both work remotely. Ask how documents reach the firm and who pays the tax on your behalf.

Which accountants in Tbilisi work in English?

Tbilisi Expat says its accountants are English speaking, Register in Georgia answers in English or Russian, and Jara Accounting consults in Georgian, Russian and English. PB Services lists English, Georgian and Russian for its accounting staff. Every firm on the list has an English version of its website.

What should a monthly accounting package include?

At minimum, the monthly returns filed on time, VAT returns if you are registered, pension declarations for any staff, and the annual financial statements companies send to SARAS. Ask whether the fee is capped by a number of transactions, and who pays a fine caused by the accountant's own mistake.

Do I need an accountant as an individual entrepreneur in Georgia?

The law does not require one. An individual entrepreneur on small business status files a short monthly return and pays 1% of income, which many people manage alone. An accountant earns the fee once you register for VAT, hire staff or fall behind on filings.
